I recently got a job offer from Workday for Software Application Engineer (P3 level) in Vancouver, Canada. The offer they made was as follows - Base - CA$120k Bonus - 10% annual Stock - CA$130k over 4 yrs Sign-on - CA$10k I wanted to know if this a good offer for Vancouver Canada and is there any room for negotiation? Any input from someone working at Workday in Canada regarding the max salary range for software app engineers at P3 level would be helpful. #workday #tech #engineering #swe #software
I think this is really great offer. You cant get more than this in Canada.
Yes you can. I did.
What is your offer ?
Even in Canada stocks are in USD. Is it CAD130k or USD130k? CAD10k Sign on is default I guess, 10% annual bonus is something they finally started offering to all employees only a few weeks ago, CAD120k base I think is low considering 10yoe (even for AppDev)!
Yes, you are right, stocks were offered in USD $105k. Base was actually increased from CAD 100k initial offer to CAD 120k (considering this is for P3 level even with 10 YOE). Is there a chance to negotiate further to increase maybe sign on without any counter offers in hand right now? Can the recruiter go back on the offer if I ask for anything more the 2nd time?
If I were you, I’d try to negotiate more base instead of more sign on… but I believe they may end up offering more RSU instead of base, which is still better than the current TC 🙂 Totally up to you, but I think negotiating once is fine and they shouldn’t go back!
Hey, congrats on your offer! I am looking for opportunities in Canada but not sure where to start. Could you share some info on what platforms are best for job search in Canada? And how different it is to find job in Canada than India. TIA
What was the interview process like with workday?
