I'm working on S&O projects and tech-related projects. I don't have any finance or investment background other than the projects that I'm on for financial institutions. What would be the best way to become a vc? Also, I'm trying to apply for a part-time financial masters program. What do you think about taking years off for an MBA?
I would say an MBA is not necessary to get into VC. Most important is networking!
I'm a VC. We just hired a BCG consultant. Unlike most other areas of high finance there really isn't a clear path into VC. We generally look for people who have gone through some hard filter (top MBA/PhD, Investment Banking, PE/Hedge Funds, MBB, FAANG) but after that it's all about your ability to network.
Following this. I’m interested to know as well but more so into PE than VC.
