I’m a fresh grad hoping to work at cognizant. I know it isn’t the best pay but I’m thinking of going there because I hear it helps with growing your career in the long run. What do current employees think about the company? Would you recommend it to me?
NO.
A big NOO
A big no from my end, i am suffering here, i do mot anyone else suffer the same pain.
Well... What other offers you have? If you have offers from FB, Google, MS etc.. definitely don't join Cognizant. But I believe it is NOT a bad company to start with. Definitely don't recommend to be with Cognizant for long time. See what options you have and then take a call
No I don't have offers from those companies....I was thinking of working for a year or two and switching companies...
No. Try other tech companies if you can. Cognizant is traditional desi company... people (higher leads manager) dumping stuff on you in 90% of the projects
Contrary to what other have posted, I would suggest you to first see what kind of projects you are getting .. I have seen new joiners are even entrusted with cut throat projects.. this will provide you enough learning to advance in ur career.. don’t forget it’s not only coding which is beneficial .. other aspects of projects delivery are also important ..
Thank you!
H1B body shop. If you’re hoping to get GC on that company forget it, their PERM denial rates are sky high.
I wouldn't say it is a bad company. There are many opportunities to grow if you want to learn. There are many new initiatives in product development side but it is still geared towards services. If you are good at what you do, you can grow pretty fast in the organization. You will have to relocate or travel as the project changes or you might get multiple options if you land in a hot zone like SFO, NY, or TX. Compensation would certainly not be upto the level of all smart ppl here who are telling you not to join, but the pay would certainly be at par with other similar consulting firms, if not better. I would suggest looking at the project requirements and making sure that they are using latest technology stack.
I heard that many people move on to Microsoft/Amazon companies following CTS...is this true?
Yes. Like any movement this is also common. People move to these companies because of their skills, not because they were in Cognizant.
Hey CTS is one of the better companies...their pay range, insurance, leave policies are much better than compared to IBM, infosys etc. Best of luck for your new job. And congrats. Learn as much as you can. I have seen this company grow from 500 people to current size. Their HR policies are good.
Thank you!
Are you serious? Isn’t CTS a body-shop that will destroy your resume?
Bodyshops destroy your resume?
