Folks who are planning to join Meta, beware !!
The work culture and the company sucks. There are other places which offer similar or better TC without the extra baggage.

some issues

1. focus on short term projects
2. performance reviews
3. bad WLB (some people on my team work 80 H/week) and management doesnt do much to address this

Check out levels fyi for list of high paying companies for 2021 : https://www.levels.fyi/2021/?from=top_banner

Blind tax : 460k

yes for the interview process. I had 2 ML system design, 1 ML concepts, 1 ML coding and 1 LC coding round. It was the most ML centric interview process I've had.
The 2nd ML system design was a manager round, so it was a little more lenient

    2. Huh?
    3. Wlb is what you make it. If you work over 40 hours you are making a mistake.

      1. Planning in my org is done for 6 months, repeating the cycle every 6 months. Even with annual PSCs I dont think that things will change much

      2. Yup, performance reviews seem like a lot of motion without actual movement. The whole process can be simplified and truncated without having all the complexity and anxiety

      3. I agree, but this is heavily dependent on your team. If you are the only outlier working <= 40 H/week, and your management rewards and considers working more hours the norm, thats fostering an unhealthy environment.

      1. Why are your org different than the rest of the company?
      2. A couple of hours of work to help you and your peers be better at their job is too much? By all means improve it, would be high impact to even save 30 minutes!
      3. No, it's entirely dependant on you. No one asks anyone to work over 40 hours, if anything they ask you not to, but people ignore it and still do until they learn better. So just don't. Added benefit, you will find you actually perform better.

I've worked at both Amazon and Meta. Never worked more than a 35 hour week at either. Both are soft
