I have got offer from IBM Cloud as Sr staff software engineer. I have been getting calls from AWS and also MSFT Azure. If I don’t mind salary, how will be working at IBM cloud vs AWS and MSFT for career and learning perspective?
I've never heard of people using cloud services from IBM... not sure how matured they are in terms of building services for cloud... I would go for AWS or Microsoft anyday
IBM sells their cloud mainly because of watson
How people can be so rude!
How foolish of you. Cloud is nothing but frankensteining open source components and writing a UI/service on top to manage it. Also I think IBM contribute more to open source than Amazon and MS.
Ibm cloud is more known when u are outside of america. Aws dominates in the us market
AWS dominates all markets. Even in China they are big despite alibaba doing a lot
OP Can you share your offer details and which location for IBM cloud ?
When it comes to job only money matters(and yeah a good manager who lets you grow). Rest all can go suck a bag of dicks if they sell on “name”
Yeah, but if the money is comparable then it does matter. Every job should, ideally, be helping you prepare for your next. A bigger name may open more doors and should be considered at least.
LOL Agree with fellow Amazonian that you are not smart enough to get in. You are equating the product with the company for starters. You are better off staying in old school IBM
Linus Torvalds during early 2000 worked for Transmeta instead of Intel/AMD. Transmeta ultimately failed. Does that mean he was not smart enough? Your logic is flawed.
AWS, Azure experience >>> IBM "cloud"
The correct answer. And an answer without being an asshole to the OP.
