I see people post a lot about working multiple jobs from home and I'm curious about anyone's experience from actually doing it. I think I messed up by leaving my old job when taking my new one a few months ago. I was previously doing helpdesk (TC 140k) and left to be a dev(TC 160k). I worked maybe 1 hour per day there, and could do that job in my sleep, but left because I was stuck due to no mobility, and I wanted to make more money. I have been fantasizing a lot lately about reapplying to that job, but are there any legal or tax implications that I may not be considering? The old job had a moonlighting policy which would allow this because they are not competitors with with my current company, but AT&T has no such rule that I am aware of 😕
Welcome to r/overemployed Read up on the tips there enjoy your 1M TC in a few months/years
I dont think there's a way for AT&T to track your second job if you keep it off of LinkedIn and don't tell anyone. You could also take your current LI profile down or lock down your privacy settings so no one can see your current employer. I used to work for AT&T and had a thriving freelance biz on the side. I would sit in the office and do my freelance work on my personal laptop and no one even noticed. Also, what company was paying you 140K for helpdesk? I have a friend who's looking for that kind of work.
Yeah me too, I’m looking to do it as a second job for $140K.
I also have a friend who will do help desk for 100k at 1hr/day
Costco hires contractor for help desk, you need to know some niche tech though. I’m support and it’s 60k for max 3 hr a day
