Hello! It’s been my dream to get into cs, but was wondering if you guys think online ms(OMSCS) would be worth it or if there is a better path? and.... Do you guys think it’s still worth attempting a change? Is it overly saturated? would company hire someone like me and etc.... I have bs and ms in civil engineering and currently working as project manager. thnks and much love
Worked for me. Coming from BS mechanical engineering, did Georgia techs OMSCS part time while working, leetcoded a lot and got a job at Amazon.
How did you like their program?
I thought it was extremely helpful. I did the computing systems path since I didn’t already have a formal background.
I don't think you need an MS in CS to find a developer job. Learn to code, leetcode and aim for entry-level jobs. Should be manageable in 6 months to a year.
Only if there are no visa requirements for OP, otherwise be prepared for denials for self-taught moves
I don't think getting a visa is going to be an issue. OP has a STEM master's so he is eligible for h1b already. (I am a self-taught developer EE grad and came through the h1b route.)
