Me too!

Bloomberg beetMeiste Jul 25, 2020

That’s until you actually face terrible wlb. You’ll eat your words if you ever land in a team with a terrible manager

VMware BipV25 Jul 24, 2020

Lol I actually came from amazon for this reason. Pay cut wasn’t that drastic, but yes I would take less health issues due to stress over a nicer car with a custom paint job.

I would take a 10% cut, maybe 15%, but not more. Think about, just spend the extra money on therapy!

Microsoft Kukuk Jul 25, 2020

No one would take pay cut here. If you ask the question framed as "would you join a company with bad wlb for 35% more tc", everyone will say yes. Here, most of us want to rack up money. Don't care about these additional parameters much. I did go from 15 hour work week in Microsoft to 40 hour work week in another company recently, but the pay also doubled (160k to 305k). I don't like working so much, but when I see the numbers every two weeks in green, it gives me strength to carry on for another two.

Google Elite10xer Jul 25, 2020

God damn, 15 hour work week for 160k is a pretty tempting deal honestly.

Slice pbbbbbbt Jul 25, 2020

Yeah seriously I’d take 15 hours for 160k in a heartbeat omg

Google Mhol27 Jul 25, 2020

I’m already only working 25 hours at google. Will take 50% pay raise to work 40 hours per week.

VMware BipV25 Jul 25, 2020

I live in the US where I'm paid about 2.5x what I would get in good old Europe. Quality of life is way better in Europe but I'm saving up enough money so that in about five years time I can just go back and buy a house outright and live debt free. Either that or buy two homes and have a renter pay off my mortgages. It'll be nice to retire early.

T-Mobile FabSoldier Jul 25, 2020

Which European country?

Goldman Sachs ldm59 Jul 25, 2020

yes also curious which country

Microsoft potatostik Jul 25, 2020

I will work for 100% worse WLB for 60% pag increase
