Someone was talking about company prestige. How do you define prestige? Is it just how difficult it is to get in? That's how university prestige is defined.
^^not ICE, but FAANG
It’s where you get this special badge when you reach the highest level.
It’s the increase in probability of getting laid (without paying) by associating with said object.
In context of work - achieving a position that is considered to be difficult to attain (typically from lots of competition) by which others will say “wow” when they find out where you work or what you do
Ok, you were beginning to answer me then you gave a tautology of some sorts. Why do they say "wow"?
They’re impressed by your ability to compete and rise through the process to stand out against the other candidates. For example after I started at FB my uncle said “wow there must have been thousands of other applicants” (I have no idea how many apply to their positions).
Prestige is TC.
Prestige = How many people want to work for you = Salary + WLB + Great Impact + Less Politics + Benefits
Better lay prestige, better exit opps
how does Intel compare wrt FANG?
Prestige is defined by how people react to you when you say where you work or which school you went. Are they super nice to you and ask questions or give opinions about the company? Well you know you are working for a company which is prestigious to them(may be not for you) and made them excited. We want to be treated well from others and hence we want to get into a company which has prestige .
ICE or FANG
Just FANG, there is nothing prestigious about ICE lmao.
What's ICE?
