    People often conflate WLB with culture. Yes, having good WLB is a key component of good culture but it isn’t the only one. Good culture to me means less backstabbing, less toxicity/gossip, having leaders you admire, great mentorship and friendships that go beyond the workplace. A good culture gives you confidence in who you are and what you bring to the table.

    That being said, I would definitely sacrifice a little TC for better culture. Mental/emotional/physical health is worth much more than money in the long run.

      Well said. Culture is different surely and that was the focus here. When someone is part of angood culture there is less stress even with 10 hours a day imo. As you said, same for me too, i am more confident when i know that smone got my back (my team or management) and everyone is invested in each other.

    I always lean towards making decisions based on TC. It’s easy to put a number on TC bumps versus differentiating wlb of different teams while interviewing. And I can’t imagine myself taking a cut for better wlb unless the wlb is unsustainable.
