SVL is really quiet and feels almost empty compared to SFO and MTV. Flat land, generic, and concrete-y. I rate it as OK. If you've ever been to Sunnyvale LinkedIn, it's like that but "tall" buildings. Food is same as MTV
It's like a more traditional college campus. It has lots of trees and bushes and paths. Varying elevation. There are tourists. There are amenities galore. Laundry rooms with detergent and fabric softener. Gyms. Classrooms. Restaurant, dining halls, cafe. Lounges. Bowling alley. New grads (young ppl.) Etc. Legit feels like college. SVL has some shared amenities, but it's lifeless and corporate feeling in comparison. MTV has character
Okay SVL is google cloud campus, it’s new, sexy, short lines, sleek tall buildings with clear separation between work and play. SVL and MTV are treated as the same campus for all intents and purposes. Really see no reason for choosing MTV(except for team, they have some cool Google teams there :-)) over SVL, it’s too crowded man.
Nah but that’s what I’m saying, there’s more square footage per employee at SVL, Even when full. Either way I’m telling you to choose based on team, if it really gets to the point you have to choose campuses SVL is nice. MTV can only get more dense, soon SVL will be new MTV, but MTV will be worse.
I love the Sunnyvale campus. Parking is plenty, food lines are less crazy, buildings are newer. And not having to go through the hellish traffic on 101&shoreline is just too good.
Different products sit in different geographic location. If you and all folks in your management chain are in the same location, say Sunnyvale, it is better than you being in mountain view and rest in Sunnyvale.
