Cisco is no better but man some people in Broadcom seriously need to bathe and brush their teeth, no joke . I know a dude in Broadcom who showers 1x a week and same goes for his spouse . When he walks the sounds I hear are the dust mites grinding against his skin 😬
Yuck. To be fair that has nothing to do with Broadcom. Building 19 at Cisco had a bunch of folks that would cycle in and dry their sweaty clothes at their desk. Disgusting.
That depends on which department you work in and whether you were hired or acquired. Not everyone at Broadcom is making a top-shelf salary in their field.
For me it's a 9-5, which is nice, but that may vary depending on team, department, etc. No real remote options because Hock doesn't seem to grasp the modern realities of software development, not to mention we did just fine working remotely during the first year of COVID. As for culture, it feels like the bare corporate minimum. Various teams and divisions may sprinkle some in, but as far as the company on the whole, I have more culture in the back of my fridge. Merit increases have been frozen for the past two years while the company has made crazy profits, but hey, at least they have plenty of money for dividends and buybacks. Really makes you feel valued as an employee...

Culture is basically strictly business. We work, meet the deadlines, and get paid top dollars. Nothing interesting tbh
