Only if you promise to implement a "skip intro" button 😩

Northrop Grumman Im IM Aug 19, 2021

There is a skip intro button…but it’s not on every show 😩

Yahoo DggO27 OP Aug 19, 2021

I’ll see what I can do about it 😂

Disney bCbV74 Aug 19, 2021

Looks good but I'm in design so might differ. Hulu/Disney recently went thru a re-org/level. The target bonus and annual LTI will be the same for people in the same level. I didn't get a new hire LTI nor Sign on bonus 😢

Yahoo DggO27 OP Aug 19, 2021

Oh yes that is something that’s a bummer for sure about the LTI staying constant😔 thanks for that info! That’s very helpful! Yeah this offer is after 2 rounds of negotiating, so I couldn’t push anymore. But the bonus wasn’t offered until I pushed for a change in base or LTI. I feel it’s strong, but not sure on the promo potential at Hulu, if it’s difficult to get promoted or not? I’d count on becoming senior eng after 2,3 years. Just feel not ready for FAANG kind of WB straight off the bat tbh 😅 and I heard good things about the WB at Hulu while not offering too low compensation like at yahoo.

Disney bCbV74 Aug 19, 2021

yeah Ive been here for about 2 years now, from what I've seen people usually get promoted after 2-3 years with the company. I think Hulu has the higher comps within the company too

I am not a manager, but based on what I've seen, for 3YOE, I think this is a solid offer at Hulu. You did well by negotiating the Sign-on bonus and new hire grant. I believe that with that initial grant + bonus your TC will be close or at the same level as many Sr. SWE (Disney P3) in Y1. When it comes to work and culture, I don't want to minimize what we have gone through over the past year, it has been rough. But as a new hire, you will have the opportunity to work on one or more products that have a huge reach. True, many of us will end up working on two different platforms... at the end of the day is a matter of perspective either you are doing double duty or you will get to work on and unify two of the largest streaming platforms. Hopefully, you'll end up in a good team where burnout is not the norm. If you decide to join, best of luck to you, there are very interesting times ahead of us.

I decided to accept their offer. I figured the same, that I would get valuable look into the merging of two large streaming products, which I expect work ahead but pretty solid career growth opportunities. I still consider myself early stages in my career so I value the growth opportunity. Thank you for the valuable insight, I really appreciate it! It’s good to know my negotiating led to something solid, they were a little tough to get to flex!

Hulu nVqw68 Aug 29, 2021

Pretty decent I have to say :) prob max beside the base. But close to max

Yahoo DggO27 OP Aug 30, 2021

The level I got is P3 😊

Apple jjgW05 Oct 15, 2021

Anual LTI is 25%* 150k ?

Yahoo DggO27 OP Oct 16, 2021

Yes

Apple jjgW05 Oct 16, 2021

So this a fantastic offer. For each year, your rsu will be: 140/3 + 150*25% = 90k ish. Don’t tell me you refused it:)
