It means they’re a bad interviewer, but if you let them talk then they probably enjoyed it and thought it went well.

I had a 45-minute call where I spoke for a total of >10 mins recently and the recruiter thought it went smashingly.

It depends what they are saying. I’m a recruiter. Usually when I’m talking a lot it means I want to pitch the potential value of a role, but before I do that I’m asking what matters to a given candidate. Sometimes I’ll get very short answers which is fine. But I’m going to be talking more on calls like that.

Was it specifically called an interview or was it an informational?

It typically means they have nobody in their pipeline, and they're trying too hard to sell/close. Use this to your advantage to negotiate and get a higher offer.

I’m a recruiter. Usually when they do that, they hope you don’t ask questions because they don’t know anything. I do more listening in my calls, but then again I’m an executive recruiter
