Managed to get a software engineer offer from Cruise, Pinterest and Thumbtack and I'm wondering what would be a good move for someone with 2 yoe.
I haven't been given any compensation numbers yet and I'm hoping to get more clarity on those this week.
Cruise seems to be working on pretty new tech and would have interesting problems to solve. However, they seem to have scrapped the RSU + PSU model in favor of bonus + equity, which is slightly worrying to me.
Pinterest on the other hand has a decent chance of going for an IPO in the next couple years and all the engineers seemed pretty smart.
Thumbtack also seemed to be solving nice problems in the local services space which has pretty good potential.
Any views on preferring one over the other until I get some numbers ? Also, any ideas on what would be a reasonable compensation to expect from the 3.
2 yoe

I have a friend who works at Thumbtack and he enjoys it a lot. Ask them if they still do that thing where every few months you take on an engineering role that is different than your own to gain a more well-rounded experience. THAT I think is wonderful and will expose you to things early on in your career that you may like or wind up not liking.
Pinterest is fine. I’m not a big user myself so I’m not as enthusiastic about them as others may be. They seem great, though.
