Hi folks. I read more than 50+ comments and posts that the Business analyst role at Amazon has to be avoided. Why is it that people are instructing to stay away from it?
Can't someone take it and grow as a Data scientist eventually?

  • You hear negative comments because everyone on blind thinks everyone should be a SWE or ML engineer making $400k minimum

To answer your question, transitioning is always possible but never a guarantee or even likely.

If your background only qualifies for business analyst roles then take it and work your butt off to get to where you want to be. If you’re overqualified keep interviewing and grinding

Wonderfully said. These SDEs who make $200k+ think of it as a cheap dirt and comment on every Business analyst post stating it's Shit. They never respect other profession. They also go on commenting it's Non tech.

It’s because everyone throws shit at you and expects you to do it. You can’t say no and will have little backbone. Exit ops are good because people respect BAs due to their work ethic and being more technical than non technical job families.
