As per my current company appointment letter, I am having annual bonus + shares (it is 30% of my package).

Now I got a new offer in which I got 20% hike.

I am supposed to get my Bonus and shares in 1.5 months time and my notice period is 2 months

If I resign now, am I eligible to get my bonus and shares are I am not eligible?

Thanks

    Depends on companies policy.

There’s also the chance that upon receipt of notice that they just walk you right out the door then and that’s your last day. They don’t have to keep you employed through the end of your notice period.

  • Depends on your company. I know here at JP if you drop your notice before your annual bonus hits your bank account they will take it away

    • Idk the reasoning, but I've seen people get laid off right before bonus day and on the comp statement it says any annual compensation won't be paid if your not in JP on the payment date. Now to be fair, there is about a 1.5-2 week window between when they tell you your bonus to when you receive it. Idk 100% what happens if you drop your notice in that window. But I would suspect they would claw it back.

And people aren't quitting without notice the day after the bonus because of this?

They can definitely take it away. I’ve had it happen

Not a well known company. There isn’t much a story. I was supposed to get my bonus, I handed in my notice and would’ve got it during my notice period. They told me I was no longer getting it and that was it

    Eligible yes.
It all depends on the timing of when they are awarded and when you leave.
