I’m a Deloitte US employee, but want to work from India for 2 weeks to stay with my family, since my dad went through a heart surgery. My manager is new so not sure if he’s going to be okay with it. I’ve used my PTO days so don’thave any leaves #remotework

  • Formal Policy says no.
Some folks have a don’t ask don’t tel policy. But all depends on your client tolerance and leadership

This. But also be careful with what clients you work for, if you’re accessing their systems remotely, etc. last thing you want is client reporting to your PM about a risky login from an unusual country where they don’t have presence

So sorry to hear. This must be stressful for you. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

TLDR: Wouldn't risk this. Telecommuting is what you're suggesting and is a strict no from talent.

Would file for the leave of absence (speak to talent) - you get 12 weeks or so paid leave, and take care of family.

You don't have to use all 12 weeks.

Please speak with project leadership as well - PMD, SM. They will be supportive.

  • When I was in Deloitte I had seen people working for at least a month or little over from India. But it all depends on the rapo you share with the leadership and how you convince
