Coming week would be my last week in Microsoft.
My CTC just got doubled in new company. Its not even an year for me in Microsoft.
Pros ( in my view ):
1. WLB ( that too is team dependent and position dependent. The SRE’s in my team are working day in and day out )
2. People around.
Below are my reasons to quit -
Cons ( in my view ):
1. Legacy systems
2. Monoliths
3. Pay ( I’m from a middle class Indian family, this is a driving factor for us. I’m infact ready to screw my WLB for some better pay )
4. Slow growth ( Every position has 2 levels )
5. Adhoc projects with strict deadlines
My question for new joiners in Microsoft is-
1. What’s the driving force for you ppl to join Microsoft? ( Is it Brand? Because thats the same reason for me )
My question for current employees is-
1. What’s that which is compelling you to stay in Msft? ( Stocks? Work? )
Current TC: 35-37L
New TC: 70-72L

My perspective on why I joined Goldman
1. No idea about where to go, whether GS is good or not, but it derived had a brand
2. Money was good enough based off my ignorance
2. It might be possible I leave for better pay in the future, but the world may never know.
