I have verbal offers from Salesforce and OCI. (No numbers yet)
How do the companies compare?
How easy is it to change teams ?
How is the performance Management (PIP etc) ?

I can’t see personally OCI ever being a competitor to AWS or Azure, or heck GCP. Too little too late. And Leisure Suit Larry is just too shady for my tastes. It would have to be a 30-40% bump over Salesforce’s offer to make me consider OCI. People at Salesforce seem to be really happy, they have a solid product and they’re growing like a weed. No brainer.

  • I interviewed for Salesforce before but didn’t like their culture. It felt fake and dead inside.

OCI is doing far more interesting infra work. If you have to go to an office I'd go OCI.

It depends on the SF team you are on, and the office you are in. I find if you aren't in the SanFran office its actually quite difficult to switch teams. I worked there for 4 years, and the one time I wanted to switch teams it took a good 6 months. They preach how easy it is to switch teams, but was not the case for me or some of my other old colleagues who also left SF shortly after me.
Overall, I learned a lot on the job, but am so much happier leaving. Some people love the culture, I never seemed to have drank the Kool-Aid. Again I really think it depends on the office, team, and position you are in.
