Amazon PM L6 (up for L7 promo Q1) or FB L5

Looking for advice:
Currently AMZN L6 PM (non tech) and have a Promo doc going up in Q1 for L7 but not super confident about it because my manager has only known me a few months and doesn’t have a sense for how likely it is to go through. ((I moved to his team recently but had enough L7/8 supporters for him to offer to try in Q1 and see what happens.))
Have a FB L5 offer which is significantly more comp but not sure if it’s worth turning down to see if I can make L7 happen as Amazon. It would be great from an accomplishment and resume perspective but concern is that my comp would not even be close to what FB is offering me at L5.
Amazon L6: $240K TC
FB L5: $380K TC

If you can hold onto the Facebook offer for a bit and see how it goes, you can do that. However, internal promos usually move people to the bottom of the next level pay band, which is near the top of the band you have to be at to be promo ready. Thus, you’re likely within $10-$20K of your promoted target comp already. In this regard, FB looks like a stronger comp offer for what would amount to a lateral move.
A lot of people are boomeranging though. So perhaps accept Facebook now to raise your comp, go there for a year, then boomerang back to Amazon as an L7. At that point, you’re brought in at the middle of the L7 band as an external hire, which is superior to an outcome as an internal promotion.
I’m not sure if people who get the internal promo receive extra recognition for that when they are evaluated externally or if it’s just a nice signal and influences leveling at the next place. Does anyone have data to share there?
and definitely better than one in the bush in this case :-)
