Considering what's happening to Zillow nowadays, is it a bad time to join Redfin?

Also what's their 401k match? levels.fyi is missing that information

    i have been quite bullish on Refin (equity). They seem to have a much better integrated business model - full service brokerage and end to end real estate services - compared to most of the other competitors (zillow = traffic, opendoor = home flipping, compass = agent tools etc.) Also, their tech (app and web user experience, data , estimate) seems to be much better than others. I think their only true competitors are traditional real estate agents, and that is such a terrible industry landscape ripe for disruption. Next few years will be really good for their revenue and I think it is a good time to join. No idea about culture , comp etc. though . How is their equity grant structure?

      Thanks for the great response! I feel the same about Redfin stocks, and considering they are low it may turn out to be better deal to join nowadays.

      They have one of the best rsu vesting I've ever seen. This is from levels.fyi
      At Redfin, RSUs are subject to a 4-year vesting schedule:
      40% vests at the end of the 1st year (cliff)
      30% in the 2nd year (7.5% every 3 months)
      20% in the 3rd year (5% every 3 months)
      10% in the 4th year (2.5% every 3 months).

      Short term, not at all. Zillow has approached ibuying entirely different than Redfin has. It's a core part of how they planned to make money. Redfin seemingly uses it more as lead gen, and helps drive choices for sellers since we offer a few different options.

      Long term, impossible to really predict, but I'm not concerned.
