TC to Home Price / Mortage

Apr 22 35 Comments

Whats your tc compared to the price of your home/monthly mortage, if you bought it within the past 3 years? Also provide location for better context.

I’ll start, 300k, don’t own a home yet, Bay Area.

  • My household income will hopefully be 400k next year between me and my partner. We’re both younger than 27 though (keeping exact age anonymous). The idea of buying a home is extremely stressful. Balancing inflation worries vs. recession worries is impossible.

TC: 242k, bf TC: 200k - our (3rd) home; 595k, bought for 560k just a few months ago - yea market is crazy, expecting it to level off or come down a bit with rising internet rates

*we have 2 that are rented out, we do make income on them but not including here as we keep those separate

That’s great to hear, what location are you able to pull off getting a 595k home?

Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, (used to be even more affordable lol) our second house we just moved out of and rented is now at around ~670k - we are just accumulating some properties for now, not in the market for “dream home” quite yet but they are definitely great for us for now + no kids
