Is this a decent offer. I have a down leveled google L4 offer (~445k - with the front-loaded vesting) for bay area.

Yoe: 12, L6 SDE(~330k, TX)

Roll the dice on Reddit IMO and potential gains. Once you decline Google you will always be on their radar to go back whenever you’d like. Decline/Xooglers are treated like gold by recruiting team

that’s gotta be a typo, I seen L5 offers less than his and L6 offers around the same. L4 is around 300k

Just because L6 isn’t easy to get doesn’t mean it’s worth staying. Amazon doesn’t even reward promos and I’d take a down level for better WLB and better TC.

Reddit will ipo soon at more than $10bn (yahoo reports $15bn target). Culture is very chill and the company is growing extremely quickly. It’s a good time to join.

I doubt Reddit will budge on equity, but there are refreshers and big chunks of performance based equity awards, so you could get more shares next summer. Only ~15% of the company is staff or higher (including managers), so you’d be closer to the front of the line when discretionary equity is dished out.

@d_yes thank you for the details. On a diff note, can you also please share general WLB? I know it’s team specific but curious to know your team/orgs WLB.

Wlb at Reddit is phenomenal and way better than my previous job. The relatively chill attitude toward performance reviews, bonus and refreshers is reflected in a way less anxious corporate culture.
