YOE is a very important data point to get quality feedback on Blind and i wanted to probe that a little further to prepare for a possible offer. there are a variety of variables that go into where a candidate falls within a compensation band but wanted to focus on YOE. lets say credentials for two candidates are identical, but one has 12 YOE vs the other with 10 YOE. (you can do 14 and 12 if that suits you but the point is to consider all YOE as relevant and the delta to be 2 years between the two candidates). for compensation, does Apple view those candidates as similar or does the 2 extra years yield a premium in equity and/or base salary? if it was 11 & 10 or 12 and 11 as the comparisons, I could see them as equal and if that gap was 3 years i would presume there has to be some premium for the more experienced candidate. I don't know man, but I just saw a post from an Fb guy with 11 yoe (E7) making 1M and I can't stop thinking about it!
Can you share your TC, level and yoe
ICT4, 4 yoe, 360k
At 10 and 12 I don’t know if there would be that much of a bump if all things are equal. Once it gets up there I don’t know if 2 makes as much of a difference.
What if it’s 2 years + a relevant graduate degree as the difference?
Depends on graduate degree and org. And what you researched I guess. Unless it’s machine learning or a heavy research role I don’t know how much it’ll matter.
What's kind of TC should I be aiming with 6 yoe for ict4?
250-350 really depends on who where and what. Above 350 ict5.
