I need suggestions regarding my move. Need to move from Atlanta to NYC or Dallas, as I'm required to work on site. I've previously lived and worked in NYC living in Hoboken. It worked out well with very little commute. Now I'm married and will probably look into buying a house in the Jersey Suburbs and the commute will be around 1 hr to 1.5 hr door to door. On the other hand Dallas seems a good place to move as it is cheaper and less travel time but it's super boring
NYC:
Pros:
Happening and fun
More opportunities in the future
Team based in NYC
Cons:
Expensive cost of living
Expensive to buy a house
2-3 hr commute daily
Dallas:
Pros:
Cheaper cost of living
Affordable housing
Very little commute
Cons:
Boring
Hardly anything to drive around to
Less opportunities compared to NYC
TC household: $215k (will be same in NY)
30 Married

Personally, I could not do Dallas long-term. They say neurotic people like New York because there’s so much stimuli. Dallas has fun things but I don’t know if I’d describe them as stimulating.
That being said, I’m moving away from Dallas to buy land in a more rural area/state because I’m WFH.
