    Visa stamping interviews, being interrogated like a kidney dealer at the airports, Dmv shitshows, side jobs, changing employers, being slapped by travel bans, taking breaks from work, starting companies, endless paperwork

      Airport queues and interrogations are frustrating and useless. Jump through a bunch of hoops, file a buttload of paperwork, go through an interview to get a H1B only to be made to stand in an hour long queue after a 20 hour flight to answer silly questions about job and paperwork.

    It would be a drastic change. Switching companies would be easier, making long term personal and financial decisions would be easier. There's nothing that compares to the safety net provided by GC when you are living on borrowed time on a work visa.

      Citizenship is just a matter of waiting 5 years, greencard is a whole other beast, unable to take bets at startups and depending on 140 sponsor not to pip
