They simply raised base fares on Lyft Pink to match that of normal Lyft. (And then flat-out denied it.)

https://thepointsguy.com/news/lyft-pink-price-discrepancies/

My commentary:

I believe they planned this out intentionally because there are just too many smart people at Lyft to not realize that Lyft Pink pricing was unsustainable. However my guess is they are relying on their good PR status (a projected β€œwoke” image) to cover them.

(Similarly, Lyft is currently operating illegally in CA and made no changes in response to AB5.) How long will it be till the media catches up?

(Note this was originally posted by someone else in Uber’s internal channel.)

Lol, coming from uber. Did you even read the article?

There is no conclusive evidence, not reproduceable.

But you are the truth arbitrer. LYFT is operating illegally but uber is okay by your definition, so must be true

I am getting rid of chase Sapphire reserve before the new charge kicks in.

These are the fake benefits that we don't need for an extra 100$

Apparently they are A/B testing group pickups with multiple vehicles for Lyft Pink where if two passengers ride in the pink the other one can ride in the stink which is in the trunk. The pricing for the stink passenger appears cheaper if they agree to get in through the rear but the pink/stink pricing is actually more expensive.

I have free Uber credits... which I now only spend on food. I use only Lyft now for all my rides. Our leadership fucked up by missing out on this partnership. CSR is the ultimate king in credit card promos. If you don’t think so, you are not doing your homework.

Not buying this article, sounds like a hit piece

Or you could y’know, compare prices between Uber and Lyft and report back here?

Also if you are in fact currently an Uber employee you’d know that we get a 17% discount on ALL rides trips. In *addition* to the $200-odd Uber credits per month.

So it kind of blows my mind that you’d prefer lesser discount (15% instead of 17%) and no monthly credits.

      Nevertheless...it’s your money I guess?

Prices are already somewhat volatile so the 2% you mention in difference is a total wash. I only cross shop when making a long drive, never for anything under 20 which is 99% of my trips. I just book and go at this point (and get my precious points)
