Yahoo! Voices: A DoorDash employee making $400K a year complained about a company-wide initiative requiring that he personally make one delivery a month. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/doordash-employee-making-400k-complained-043424806.html #yahoo #doordash #vent #wedash
The amount of entitlement and greed exhibited by the faux libertarians on this site is truly disturbing.
This policy is a waste of time and resources for the large majority of employees. Do you really think delivering food is going improve a doordash infra engineers ability to tackle their day to day infra challenges? If anything, this policy should only apply to people who actually influence product directions like senior leadership and PMs.
While I definitely agree it’s waste of resources, I think no one should feel that a job is “below them” the doordash employee definitely acted that way and tbh some empathy for their fellow delivery people doesn’t hurt.
I disagree. If not directly then it will likely open up engineer's understanding of the product at large and therefore make their relationship with product have more synergy
It's an excellent thing to do because it'll give them a chance to build a product for the customer instead of themselves
