Dude ; I’m rooting for you. Don’t be so cringe. https://twitter.com/hotepjesus/status/1160703140997554176
Yikes
Why didn’t he just give her a $1000. Apparently his plan will fix everything.
This
Yang’s Howard Dean moment. He ded!
How is this a cringe moment? He just heard from a mother whose 4 year old was shot while her other toddler was there and he started thinking about his own young kids in that situation. If that doesn’t mess you up a little bit as a parent or just a regular human then something might be off with your empathy chip.
It can mess you up but that’s not an excuse to cry. Not if you’re trying to run for President. You know presidents hear terrible news all day? What if hears a few space marines got shot down close to Pluto? Is he gonna break down in front of everyone?
While I completely understand what you mean. It can be argued that when it comes to kids being killed in a completely avoidable way it makes sense for someone even someone running for president to get a bit emotional. That being said I do not think your point is invalid, but it’s equating very different circumstances. Saying someone being momentarily struck by the weight of an objectively horrible possibility does not make that person weak or mean they are prone to break down. That’s a really flimsy argument. Now I’m neither for or against Yang, I don’t know much about his platform but this should not be a disqualifying moment in fact it should be the opposite. That being said society has a way of viewing empathy as weakness when it comes to leaders so it’s a toss up.
OP is probably the one with problems
Why cringe? What's wrong with a little empathy and trying to relate?
No one wants to see performative tears in a leader.
Sorry but your generalization is incorrect, OP.
