Proofpoint / Medallia outcome of Thoma bravo purchase

Proofpoint and medallia employees what has been your experience post the Thoma Bravo acquisition? Any layoffs happened ? Did they affect (positively or negatively)your culture or day to day operations? Looking for answers as we are about to go through a similar boat now. #tech #acquisition #proofpoint #medallia #anaplan #thomabravo

Fortunately, no layoffs, no reduction in force as of now. It will be almost a year the aquisition was declared last April of Proofpoint. However, our CEO will be leaving in April 2022 on his own, which is bad for us. I was also worried after reading about Thoma Bravo history with what they did with some of the companies they bought. Good luck, hope things would work out fine for you guys as well!

Thank you for the info 🙏. That is great to know . How about the culture?

No major change in culture, however I would suggest keep hands on leetcode, because you never know what’s going to happen with Anaplan.

No layoffs except ~100 in commercial sales which isn’t a priority for TB. But attrition has been all time high, and then they put hiring freeze. They recently started hiring in India, so cheaper labor is the focus which makes sense because PE firms only care for profit. We can’t hire good talent in the states because compensation is anything but competitive. Morale is all time low. It’s not a place anyone want to work at.

Thanks for the perspective 👍

Ya and Medallia has terrible management though. Directors and senior directors feel so entitled.

CEO left because of frustrations with TB folks, talks of cost cuts, not laying off yet, but TB history got former CEO worried. He had to wait to quit so he gets that payout
