What's the process like ? I know that processing times depend on USCIS. But given how tech companies abuse immigration to retain employees, that's why I am asking How long does it take to get i-140 ? How long does it take to get green card after ? What's the lawyer firm they use ?
Saleaforce and adobe may be better ( based on what I heard from friends working there ) as at these mostly these processes are automatic and managers are more supportive to move the process ahead
Same applies to Walmart though it’s not automatic, it’s employee’s responsibility , they are expected to reach out to HR after 3 months
Thanks for the info. Do you mean 3 months after joining ?
Yes!!!!
I don’t think yelp is performance based. (I mean as long as you are doing your job) They just start your process after 6 month. I haven’t heard anyone having trouble from their managers on green card applications.
My experience with them has been fine. You need manager approval to start the process. And for that you need good performance for at least 2 quarters (it varies). They only delayed me for two months while waiting to send put PERM recruitment ads cause they want to send them out in batches. It took me a year to get I140.
Yeah, the batch requirement is bullshit IMO, but it sounds like most companies do this.
Yelp can file on week 1, just negotiate
So which is it? Check out this post! "eBay green card - perm freeze ? (Work VISA)" https://us.teamblind.com/s/BeaeCWTE
Got offers from yelp PayPal eBay and Adobe, and Salesforce. Want to go to a company who wouldn't be using immigration as a tactic to retain me. Apparently green card is a performance bonus these days. Sorry wasn't born in privelege
There’s that racism showing!
