Recently got an offer from Yelp for engineering manager Level 1. Would love to know what y'all think. Base: 165K RSU: 220K over 4 yrs Signing Bonus: 20K YoE: 2years as an EM
EM should be something like 200K base, 500-600k stock over 4 year, 15% bonus
EM1 at Yelp is for someone with only a couple years of Experience. What you’re describing is roughly equivalent for Yelps higher level EM levels. Maybe 3-4.
That’s just plain insulting.
Stock/Bonus need to be doubled
Looks like a standard offer for Yelp EM 1.
It's shocking that EMs are valued so low at Yelp. Why is that?
It's a parallel track to IC. First line manager is equivalent IC3. That TC is slightly more than how much IC3s are paid.
Low for EM in bay area. This is low even by Austin standards
Yelp pays well the longer you stay. Year 1 total count tends to be lower in comparison to other companies because they aren't looking for the type of people that jump around every 2 years to get a bigger paycheck. They're looking for people that want to grow a career here and if you perform well the promotions will be generous.
Lmfao only new grads will fall for this
