I recently had onsite interviews at Yelp. All the rounds seemed to have gone fine and in the end the HR guy promised to get back in 1-2 weeks. But this is week 3 since the interview and haven't gotten any sort of response. I mailed them once the time frame they promised got over. That was a couple of days ago. I don't want to mail them again and sound desperate now People @ Yelp - Do you think I should keep hopes any longer?
Ping them. Why guess?
Yelp will only hit you up to threaten to remove good reviews unless you pay them.
Not much hope for you. Usually it’s a negative sign
What school you're from ?
UF
But how does it matter
Either a sign of poor hiring processes or shifting priorities. Recruiters are notorious for ghosting.
How hard is it for them to send a one click templatized thank you for applying mail if its a reject 🤷🏼♂️
You might be surprised. Usually though it’s because they have nothing positive to say and take your time for granted. Always always have other pokers in the fire. I get it though.
Follow up with the recruiter or the hiring manager. Don’t wait. Don’t worry about sounding desperate to recruiters as that is not going to change anything.
Are you a new grad?
No. 3 YoE. But the recruiters job title is "University recruiter" 🤷🏼♂️
Definitely follow up with the recruiter. Mine took about 2 weeks because apparently one of my interviewers went on vacation and didn't leave feedback
Did once. No response
Follow up again?
Heard back after a month from my phone interview for an on-site. And a month after on-site for offer. They are super slow.
Wow. I hope you aren’t sarcastic
Nope. I even told them I have to accept another offer and no response. I accepted with Amazon a week after on-site and they didn’t even seem to care. Came back a month later. They are just slow and disorganized.
