Hi all, Could you please help me evaluate offers from Yelp and OCI? Any help is appreciated. Yelp Location: SF Position: IC2 Backend application developer Total Compensation: 205K Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Location: Seattle Position: IC2 Total Compensation: 230K Currently at Amazon Seattle, SDE2 with 3.5 years experience. Current total compensation = 203K
Congrats 🎊 I would recommend OCI. Better pay, possible better work ? I also feel better chance of mobility to other cloud companies.
OCI is a sinking ship, not sure about Yelp. You can move to OCI enjoy the comp and get out soon. Can't stay long < 3 yrs probably
230 / IC4 not a typo? Some IC3 got more than this. Current TC grant-value or current value?
Do you guys know what is the maximum I can negotiate for? I have also heard Yelp has one of the best cultures. Any thoughts on Yelp?
Yelp has a really good engineering culture. Engineers can drive projects from the bottom up, ask questions and push back product/management and engage with fruitful conversations with leadership. Comp is tier 2,but wlb is very much encouraged. I have had managers come to me, and ask me to not slack or email on weekends.
Is this total compensation really? It is lower than IC3
Thanks guys. I have edited the post to indicate I need to clarify the position being offered at Oracle. Do you guys think 230K is reasonable at OCI for an Amazon SDE2 with 3.5 years of experience? Or is it possible to negotiate for more? Also, would love to hear insights about Yelp :)
Read more about OCI before you decide to join. Use blind search option
Ask for 350k with 3.5 yoe that’s the norm
Checkout thelayoff.com before finalizing OCI
Ask for 260k at OCI. Someone on blind got that with 4 yoe
