Low specialist wait time in Bay Area

I recently transferred to the USA. Previously I was in the UK(Not UK citizen), and I couldn't get an appointment and surgery in a year because my problem isn't critical. Coming to the bay area, I got a specialist appointment in a week and I can have my surgery as soon as this month. I thought specialist things like these were once in a blue moon type of thing. Really impressed by this. I don't know about others, but for me, American healthcare seems to be working far better than NHS.
