Hi All,

Something strange happened this week. So, I was looking for roles in Canada as am planning to relocate from US to canada. It's a recruiting platform company. Although most of my experience in FinTech and payment networks I decided to go with this as they are willing to sponsor visa to Canada and also sounded pretty interesting when they explained what they do. So, we scheduled a coding round . I solved all the questions in about 40 mins and we had 20 mins to kill and he started asking about what am looking in my next role.

So, first I told him what I can bring to the table coming from a big tech company with advanced fintech experience. Then I told him I also contribute alot in low level architecture and am looking for the same in the next role as I like designing stuff. Kinda conveyed that am looking for a role where I can contribute in design. As far as am concerned I nailed the interview. The conversation was great. We agreed alot. Lot of smile. It was great.

2 days later I got an email saying I no longer fit for their search criteria and am also over qualified for the role.

I don't get it. It just never happened to me.

Don't wanna reveal the company name yet. They are not too big. It's a small community.

Current TC : 110k USD

I'm guessing they were afraid you'd want too much money

People keep insisting that rejection letters contain a "reason". Often the actual reason is something that could be construed as illegal grounds for not hiring... So thee recruiter is tasked with making a bullshit excuse. Personally, I'd just prefer we all stick to yes/no. This just gives you a false sense that you understand their rationale.
