  To come to this guy's defense, I think he is saying it is sad his net worth is half of his TC. Though he probably hasn't been working long enough for it to be higher it might feel bad to have a low net worth which is maybe entirely employer provided stock.

  I know! I try hard to find that balance in case there's something I'm a lot more passionate about than tech (balance is hard to find in tech sometimes).   Well, higher levels take longer to promo, but yeah, on average 1 year. How? That should be a long answer, but if I can select two things is selecting the work I am good at + being very explicit with myself, team and managers what and how I want to achieve in the next half / year
