Your darkest tech industry confession

I moved into a management
position just so I can enforce FunctionNamingRules that I like. All other naming conventions are garbage.

Agree with Google. I don’t think you would make anything meaningful with this crazy drop. It might take years to recover.

I have lied on my resume by saying I worked at 2 FAANG companies when I actually havent worked even in 1 of them. I just listed the projects I did at other small companies/universities as FAANG work. This helped my in getting my resume shortlisted.
I have cheated in many FAANG interviews by looking at solutions right in front of me (my own LC solutions if I get a direct LC). I have received multiple offers.
I have reneged on a previous accepted offer because I got a vastly better offer elsewhere. I WILL NOT HESITATE TO DO IT AGAIN.
I have also not been caught during any background check since I do not mention my fictional work ex at multiple FAANG companies in the background check form.

There you go! Finally said it. This has made a difference of atleast 100k.

yup, remote. and yes, what you put on your background check form need not be the same as what you put on your resume. nobody checks for discrepancies. I enter the actual companies where I worked - in my background check form.

  • When I started my career, my lead and my architect would nitpick on small things in code reviews. Sometimes, the changes they proposed would take a lot of time to implement. So, i’d sometimes introduce some bugs which I kinda knew they’ll find, and eventually fix them up. This way, I could save a lot of time.
