Hey guys, I got matched with Youtube as a new grad hire. Does anyone have insight in to how Youtube is in terms of learning, growth, and impact for new grads? And more specifically in terms of scope of work, I'm especially interested in distributed systems, working with big data (data mining), and back-end, in that order. Are there teams specifically at youtube dealing w/ dist. systems and big data or is that done separately by other infra specific roles and product areas (SRE/GCP/SETI)? thanks
that’s like my dream 😄, congratulations!
Thank you!
YouTube is one of the largest systems on the planet. Think about how many hundreds of hours of videos are uploaded every second. There's amazing infra work there, trust me :) It is also the second most popular search engine after Google search. So a good amount of ranking stuff involved too.
I work for YouTube. Feel free to DM.
Just sent you a DM!
