I gave an interview for a SaaS company for Go + k8s role. I solved (aced - everything in Go) coding + concurrency + projects discussion + had a good time with interviewers. The HM round went for 90 minutes - discussed about everything ( about the role, WLB, perks of it, future planning - heck even a new release in upcoming weeks, the exact task, etc) and had a good discussion on distributed system problems - gave at least 2 approaches for each with real life examples - talked about container design patterns, etc.
Then a got a cold call of good tech skills and "not cultural fit" rejection. I am confused af and all the signs during each interview were positive. This is depressing since I didn't get any actionable feedback, just a generic not cultural fit. There weren't any behavioral questions during the HM round or explain a scenario sort of questions either.
Now I can't trust anything during an interview - whether to be excited or docile or talk about my interests or career plans or etc.
I am not sure if i'm really culturally off or they wanted to lowball reject me or just found someone better with lower TC or was this a brain rape interview ?
Kindly refer me for any distributed systems based roles. WLB not a priority.
