They do ask some stats in interviews for junior/midlevel employees but nowhere near on the level of Google or Amazon.
Like I said, not everyone is a SWE or MLE and has a PhD in comp sci.
Reporting and dashboards aren’t glamorous or highly technical, but like I said, they get paid $300k to do it (among other things). And these jobs aren’t going anywhere. Even if parts of analysts jobs are automated, we’re a very very long ways away from real automation of these jobs.
This is coming from a SWE fwiw
