Run. The manager they sent up from Hawthorne to whip the Seattle office to work faster and cheaper is horrendously abusive, but has the same mentality as Elon so that says alot.

Used to work there, and got laid off. Elon had his VERY California assistant and some reality show contentant lookalike sit in the old director's cube like the day they changed management. I haven't been there in awhile but the whole transition to the Hawthorne folks was WEIRD.

Worth pushing on with the process just to do the onsite and see what it's like. Starlink leadership now has a lot of Elon loyalists/koolaid drinkers but meet the team and find out.

Disclaimer I don't work in that dept

Not too bad. Most people are trying to have wlb but there are a few cliques of people who work way too much and wear it as a badge of honor. Hours can be crazy but there's no PIP culture. Hiring is always behind due to ambitious goals and attrition. So even though there may be social pressure to deliver a lot, you're not going to get fired assuming you're non negative value to the team. and it's not like advancement matters - if you want to make money it's the wrong place
