I have an offer from Spacex and Amazon at Lab126 both in supply chain (new product development).

Amazon is offering 171k TC broken down as 145k base, 26k first year bonus, 16k second year bonus and 18 RSUs paid over 4 years.

SpaceX is offering 142k TC broken down as 110k base, 2.5k sign on bonus, and 160k RSUs paid over 5 years.

The base pay for spacex is rough, but my cost of living is low.

Current TC 95k in a medium cost of living area.

Besides TC, you should also consider your future career in supply chain... SpaceX consider suppliers a liability and should be avoided if at all possible. ie supplier relationships are transactional rather than strategic. Amazon has tremendous buying power and will afford you a front row seat in strategic supplier engagements.

I think these are both good β€œstart your career” companies and roles, but SpaceX has a cutting edge factor and seems like a better investment.

Sorry I'm dumb. This is for supply chain. I somehow thought it was flight software engineering. Range is probably fine.

How is the number of RSUs computed in SpaceX? (actually, β€œwhen” is key)

It’s not start date. It’s at the first board of directors meeting after the start date. For me that was over 2 months after my start date. Rumors for the next eval are sometime this month

It's not the start date. First quarterly board meeting after start date. They may or may not decide a price change then.
