Currently E4, TC roughly 280k (300k if stock moons after earnings next week)

Expecting L5 offer from Pinterest. Not sure about offer details yet, but likely to be at least 200k/700k/75k signing from what I've seen previously. In ML space so salaries might even be higher (~have seen up to 900k equity)

Is it worth to make the jump? Current manager has not made a clear indication that they intend to promote to E5 within next half. I have some decent projects, but hard to turn down a big TC at PINS with a good opportunity to lead and build a big effort from ground up there.

I know Pinterest WLB is much better, interested in how much potential the PINS stock still has, also interested in the ML strength at PINS and how the PINS leveling system compares to other places.

Pinterest level holds pretty strong comparing to most companies. Lots of 10yoes from G/F/U+ land L5. Don’t know how OP even got the call with that YOE. Must be some serious matching on skill

Pinterest matches level with google and Facebook and are very close in comparison for compensation. Even in some cases I would say higher. This Guy must have some unique skill set to get into Pinterest with such experience

Definitely make the jump OP. I left FB for a total comp boost as an E4, but likely was on track for E5.

It’s better to just take the guaranteed raise since it is quite solid and you will also get to learn new skills outside of FB. Plus you can always maintain an upward career trajectory at the new company.

FB is a great place, but you don’t necessarily get exposed to the typical ways of working on software since there is so much internal tooling.

To be honest no. But that wasn't a priority to me, I was getting a bit under E5 comp (~350k) so didn't care. In fact I viewed that as a positive as I could potentially get an easy promo and level up my salary even further.

ah, for sure. You must have gotten one of the high band ICT3 offers, which is really good. Congrats! If I were in that position, I would have probably also jumped

I’ve read on Blind that Pinterest pays more because they can’t hire the best talent. Doubt that’s entirely true but can anybody with opinions on working at Pinterest share?
