Hello fellow blinders,
Please help me in formulating a decision here. Got the offers from following with respective TC:
#uber ( EM2 L5b)
Base: 90 lac
Bonus: 18 lac
Signing bonus : 20 lac
Joining RSUs: 320K USD ( to be vested jn 4 years @25%, ~60 lac per year)
Total ~1.9 cr
#zeta ( Senior EM)
Base : 1 cr
Joining bonus: 15 lac ( first year)
Retention bonus: 15 lac (2nd year)
eSOPs: 70K USD yoy ( to be vested in 4 years by 10, 20, 30, 40 %)
Total ~1.4 cr
Yoe: 16
Currrent TC: 70 base + 20 bonus + 35 rsus) ~ 1.25 cr
IMHO, role and growth prospective of Zeta is looking more promising than Uber but then the compensation difference between the two is making me in two minds.
What’s your opinion here ?
#uber5b #zeta #offers

Zeta WLB is shit as well. The project/problems might sound fancy but are not as challenging as the problems we’ve solved in Uber/Amazon earlier. There’s no scale/huge chunk of data, to use my previous experience.
Moreover, If I understand correctly, your 1st year TC is: 1cr+ 15L JB + 5L esops = 1.15Cr + 5L esops. What am I missing? If I’m correct then the TC difference is insane.
Moreover you can only cashout a % of vested esops.
Now if you compare that with Uber’s quarterly vesting, the liquidity is a big advantage.
Also, don’t forget the long Notice Period at Zeta for Senior Leadership.
Also for 16+, the role they are offering seems to be on lower side, I can see people having 7+ yoe as Managers there
