Not under current administration. They wouldnโ€™t hesitate to release a new vaccine every weekend to pump up the market.

Companies will take the risk because they are well protected; there is no real liability. Class action efforts have been squashed already. The bar is already very low for vaccine testing. There are no randomized controlled trials for vaccines.

The vaccine takes along time to be approved by fda. But i don't understand why it can be prescribed with the mutual content of a doctor and a patient. If it feels like someone might die due to covid-19, it's better to give the vaccine a shot. Will help with trial data as well

Gilead is in advanced stages of the vaccine development. They are at Stage 3.
A lot of companies are still pre-clinical right now.

There is a good chance Gilead will reach there before winter this year and we will have corona vaccine and a normal flu vaccine to take
