Let me preface this to say, anyone that believes Bitcoin and Ethereum is too high and they missed the boat is completely wrong. It’s not too late and would be wise to still buy fractions of each. Remember you aren’t committed to buying a full coin.
I do think there are other coins with higher upside.
One of them is Polkadot ($DOT). The name may sound funny but the creator is Dr Gavin Wood who was one of the founders of ethereum. He wrote most of the early code for ethereum. Basically polkadot will connect all blockchains and provide interoperability between blockchains. What this means is ethereum, binance, polkadot or any blockchains will be able to work with each other. Below is from their website.
“Polkadot is built to connect private and consortium chains, public and permissionless networks, oracles, and future technologies that are yet to be created. Polkadot facilitates an internet where independent blockchains can exchange information and transactions in a trustless way via the Polkadot relay chain.”
I truly believe this coin is a great long term hold. Oh yeah did I also mention you can stake and earn 14% apy just by holding/staking the coin? For those that don’t want to get too far deep in the technicals you can stake right on kraken but I highly recommend staking it yourself and not holding coins on an exchange. Polkadot is not on coinbase yet so it does it make it a little more difficult to buy but it’ll be worth it. It is a given that it will eventually be on coinbase and when that happens you’ll see a 30% increase.
Coinbase ventures is already investing in polkadot projects and coinbase custody has already launched staking. All this info can be found online.
Can’t wait to check in with this thread in a few years...$DOT to the moon

Here’s more info that explains it better than I can
https://wiki.polkadot.network/docs/en/learn-staking
Also we’ll have to see how polkadot and cosmos play out. Polkadot uses landlord vs tenant model while cosmos does voluntary participation as in you can use cosmos ibc if you want but you don’t have to
