Considering moving to LA for relo, but curious to know which areas to avoid the most for potential fires and how residence of LA’s quality of life has been impacted by the ongoing fires.

I have read a handful of articles, but it would be beneficial to hear from those that are currently living there. Thanks for your help

      Man made fires can be minimized by stoping the suburban sprawn around California. Especially out in the sticks, and up in mountains. Natural fire are fine, fires caused by bad power lines out in the middle of nowhere, where it is very dry, is not a natural fire.

      It's going to burn one way or another. You're splitting hairs. If lightning strikes and causes a fire that burns you're house down you wont care if it were natural or man made. There are LOTS of things California could do to protect against forest fires. Cutting fire lines through forests like they do on the east coast would greatly stop the spread of fires but people think they look bad so we dont do it. We could also better utilize solar and wind to reduce the distance electricity must travel. We could also bury medium and low voltage lines.

      "Containing sprawl" would only make the housing issue worse.

    Fire is much more immediate threat to people in LA than earthquakes. I am not sure why they don’t develop more housing in the city.
