Wow... might as well move out of the bay then. I wonder how many will move to low cost of living cities with this news

You have to excuse us. We have been in SF for so long we know nothing but other dudes living here.

Los Angeles and many more pleasant beach towns along the California coast easily kill SF for all 3 things. And @Lyft your comment killed me 😂

Idk man, I hope positions don’t start becoming a scarcity in the US and become abundant elsewhere. WFH may end our glory days of high TC.

    • All this assumes that there is a large untapped supply of comparable talent around the world, which I think is an assumption that is not all that clear. There's a reason why not that many companies have gone overseas to hire engineers. If top talent were that easy to find, we'd would have had many more all-remote success stories by now.

Precisely. Not only does it assume that there is a large untapped pool of engineering talent, it assumes timezones don’t matter, it assumes the only thing preventing these mythical developers from switching companies is their location, it assumes communication skills don’t matter as much which is generally less true in person than remote, it assumes visas aren’t an issue for said developers. It just assumes way too much

I'm not happy about this. I want to go back to work. It sucks for us who live by ourselves.

Jack Dorsey is one of the few tolerable billionaires out there. This guy was literally the first one in the Bay Area to make his two companies wfh. The first domino lol

The crowding space is the least I enjoy, compare to micro kitchen, gym, cafes, awesome teammates, and occasionally onsite events like happy hours
